Prototype 1
For this first landing page design, I took a bold and unconventional approach. The typography has a grunge-inspired, hand-drawn feel, giving it a raw, authentic character.
Some images are stock, but I specifically sought visuals with overlapping shadows that interact with text and other elements. Since The Cornerhouse on Main focused on freshly made, locally sourced (Km0) food, I chose close-up images of farms and chefs handling ingredients to emphasize this aspect.
To break away from a traditional restaurant website, I incorporated playful icons, adding a modern and engaging touch while maintaining a professional look.
Beyond food, the restaurant also had its own microbrewery, so I dedicated a section to it, using design elements inspired by beer—bubbles, foam, and dynamic textures—to capture its essence.
Another highlight was their ice cream shack, known for serving the best ice cream in town. To make this section fun and visually striking, I used doodles related to ice cream and designed a large ice cream visual with projected shadows over the text for added depth.
To strengthen the restaurant’s connection with the community, I introduced a branded hashtag, encouraging customers to share their experiences on social media.
Finally, I included a section with the location, working hours, and Instagram handle, making it easy for customers to find and follow them.

Prototype 2
For this second prototype, I took a more refined, traditional, and professional approach while maintaining the same core structure. The design is cleaner and more organized, offering a polished experience.
The Cornerhouse on Main was known for its variety of food, drinks, and ambiance, with different environments catering to different tastes. To highlight this, I added a dedicated section showcasing these three options, making it easier for customers to navigate and find what suits them best.
A key structural change in this design is the use of clearly defined blocks for text and images, enhancing readability and creating a more structured, visually balanced layout.
For the microbrewery section, I included photos of the beers alongside their prices, helping customers get a better idea of what to order before arriving at the restaurant.
The Ice Cream Shack section was simplified by removing doodles and instead featuring more images of people enjoying the ice cream, reinforcing the inviting and social aspect of the experience.
